When Style Meets Practicality: Different Types of Travel Bags
Travelling is something everyone loves and enjoys. There are people who, apart from the travel itself, also enjoy packing and one of their greatest travel obsessions are quality and fancy travel bags. There are various types of travel bags and each one of them serves a purpose, meaning all of them are travel appropriate, but some are easier given the circumstances than others. So, let’s check the most common and most adequate bags for travelling in more detail.
Leather Duffel Bag
Duffel bags are cylindrical bags with zip closures and carrying straps. When it comes to duffel bags, there are leather travel bags and canvas bags. If you want a more modern and sophisticated look, a stylish and luxury travel leather bag is the ideal choice for you. For the highest quality, choose a 100% travel leather bag. A canvas duffel bag, on the other hand, will provide you with a more casual look. These bags are commonly used as carry-on bags on most travels as they’re easy to carry around. They are even more convenient if you are going to be walking on uneven surfaces (for instance, cobblestone). Plus, they have enough space to store all of your travel essentials in there.

These bags are sometimes called Weekender bags too when they’re on the smaller side. Duffel bags are perfect for a few-days-trip, but also the most adequate option for a day trip. They are spacious and open, easy to store and have no rigid parts, which you will find very advantageous if you have oddly shaped belongings to transport (like shoes, or sports equipment). In addition, duffel bags also come with many pockets on the inside, as well as on the outside. These bags are very practical for folding and storing at home when you aren’t using them.
Travel Pack
A travel pack is a rucksack specially designed for adventurers. It doesn’t look any different compared to your school backpack, but it is bigger and has an added benefit of being able to zip shoulder straps, hip belts, and shoulder harnesses out of sight. As such, it works perfectly well during times when you just have to pack up and move. It's very easy to carry, it’s durable, fits in the overhead compartment so you don’t have to worry about checking a bag, and it has a lot of space for your essentials. Travel packs are best for camping, road trips, and places without roads. It’s a pro that it provides weight distribution on both shoulders and hands aren’t used for carrying it.

Even though travel packs are usually bigger than regular backpacks, they can still be found in different sizes. But how do you know what size backpack to get? Well, backpacks are usually between 25 and 85 litres. So, your choice will depend on how long your trip is going to be. Smaller bags (around 25L) would be ideal for use as daypacks. A travel pack of this size will work well if you are carrying a few items that you need to keep handy, such as a book, a light jacket, or a camera. You can also use this backpack for short weekend trips, but only if you are a light packer. Larger bags (around 65L), on the other hand, are for long hiking trips and they work well in the outdoors when you will be carrying clothing for multiple days and some camping gear. Between these two extremes, are the 35-45L packs, which are ideal for a few-days-travel. Opt for a 35L pack if you prefer to pack light, and 45L if you like to pack a little more.
Rolling Suitcases
A rolling suitcase is a suitcase with two wheels on the base and it's pulled by a telescoping top handle. Such wheeled luggage is very easy for a person to travel with and it is designed for the basic traveller. This type of travel luggage is pretty durable and comes in all sizes. If you want to shop and bring things back home, you will definitely need a rolling suitcase. You will find it advantageous as you won’t have to carry the weight yourself. You just roll the suitcase along using the retractable handle. When choosing the right suitcase, you have to bear in mind for how long you will be away, what are you going to travel with, what type of clothing you will need (winter clothing, for instance, will take up much more space than summer clothing), etc. All in all, it is the ideal choice of travel luggage for long trips when you will have a lot of things to pack. Wheeled suitcases are also ideal for children so they don’t have to struggle with heavy luggage.

Rolling Duffel Bag
For people who like the sizing and spaciousness of a duffel bag, but at the same time hate carrying bags by hand and want the convenience of wheeled luggage - a rolling duffel bag is the ideal option. As it is wheeled, this bag can be even more spacious than a regular duffel bag because you won’t carry the weight yourself. So, with a rolling duffel bag, you can carry large, oddly shaped gear with ease.
